PATTERN DESCRIPTION
Asymmetric midi dress with one sleeve. It features a gathered seam to the front from the left side seam, a cut at the bottom, waist darts at the back and a band along the neckline.
SUGGESTED MATERIALS
Medium density knitted fabrics.

• 1.60 m (1 ¾ yd) tape interfacing to reinforce the cut.

SEAM ALLOWANCES
Pattern pieces already include 0.7 cm (¼”) seam allowances for all edges.
Attention! As the dress is asymmetric, the patterns contain the mark “RIGHT SIDE”. The left side seam of this dress is designed in the front, beginning from the waist and ending in the bottom.

INTERFACING
Interface the seam allowances of the front (1) and back (2), and the shoulder section of the back with tape interfacing.

FRONT GATHERED SEAMS (1)
Gathered seam on bodice — 17 cm (6 3/4”) from armhole to waist.
Gathered seam on hips — 22.5 cm (8 9/10”) from waist to hip.
SEWING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Stitch the waist darts on the back (2), making the dart smooth, and press to the center.
2. Gather the left side cut on the front (1). To do this, stitch 2 parallel lines from the beginning of the side cut to the control point of the end of the gathered seam until you reach the required size.
PROCESSING THE CUT
1. Interface the cut allowances of the front (1) and back (2) with tape interfacing.
2. Overlock the cut allowances from the end of the gathering to the bottom of the garment.
3. Stitch the left side seam from the top point to the beginning of the cut. Press the seam in the gathered area to the back and press the cut allowances.
4. Stitch along the cut allowances and press.
5. Reinforce the shoulder section of the back. Overlock the shoulder seam and press the back seam allowance.
6. Insert sleeve (3) into the open armhole along the notches and sew it in with an overlocker. Press the seam to the sleeve.
7. Overlock the sleeve and side seam and press the seam allowance to the back.
NECK BAND
1. Stitch the band (4) into a ring using a sewing machine, then press the seam allowances.
2. Fold the band in half and press it.
3. Pin the band to the neckline, aligning all the control points and stitch with an overlocker. Press the seam to the side of the dress.
4. Overlock the bottom of the dress and sleeves, press it on the wrong side and stitch along the seam allowance.
5. Give the garment a final press.
